I like to ride my bike.

I’m a Bloglines-er

Posted on | January 12, 2006 |

I’ve finally done it. I’ve broken down and leapt into the world of RSS readers, feeds, and whatnot. While I have dutifully provided all flavors of feeds for my site for years, I must admit I’ve never really bothered with them myself. Why read design-less content when I can surf over to the site myself to get the content?

Great logic, right? Until I own up to the fact that I keep forgetting about sites I like to read. Unfortunately, I’m horrible about bookmarking site/blogs I want to continue to read, I then forget about them only to return months later thinking “Why haven’t I been reading this? This is actually pretty good.”

So, now I’m a reluctant Bloglines-er.

And I like it. *sigh*

Only 16 feeds so far…… just wait, now that you can efficiently read the sites you like, it will quickly grow to hundreds :)

I know. Plus, I don’t even have all the sites I remember to read regularly in there yet (notice your site isn’t there).

The true question is are you a ‘digger’ yet? (digg.com)

Ahh hell…Now I’m going to have to get one. You have pushed me over the edge. I’ve been bloglines-curious for a long long time. Sage + Firefox is good, but bloglines is accessible anywhere…

I definitely like that it’s web-based — when I check it at home, it knows what I already read at work. FeedLounge is also supposed to be good, but it requires a small monthly fee.
