Sigh

Posted on | January 16, 2005 |

The Colts just lost. This further proves why I hate it when the team I want to win is the so-called favorite.

Now, I have nothing to look forward to (sports-wise) until March Madness. Kansas being my pony for that tournament should serve as further evidence why I don’t like my team to be the commentators choice.

Don’t feel bad Swan. My hatred for the Patriots vastly outweighs any dislike I may have for the Colts. Also, my team lost, however theri excuse is that they have a monkey for a coach. I feel that my play calling was far superior to the crap that happened on the field. Anyway, the Patriot’s days are numbered, after all, cheaters always get caught in the end!

Cheated? Are you insane? What you saw on Sunday was what experts are calling one of the most dominant and perfectly played 60 mins of football ever. The patriots, in the days of salary cap and selfish players, are the most complete and perfectly put together team in any sports, in any generation. Belichick, with 4 superbowl wins, 2 as asst. w/giants, and 2 as coach of Pats, is now being considered one of the best coaches of all time, if he wins another this year - he will be. Tom Brady is the most efficent field manager and best money quarterback since Montana. Who cares how many TD’s Payton threw this year - how many super bowls has he won you? What all that said, how can you even think of calling them cheaters? The colts will never be good enough until they spend more than 20% of their total salary on defense. What more can I say than “Here we go insurance adjusters, here we go.”

Please address any responses to Anonymous’s statement to Anonymous.

I knew Anonymous was going to get things riled up in here. I’ll give you all a little fodder: Miss Anonymous is a Vikings fan.

    Proceed.

Vikings Fan? LOL. Anonymous - I was going easy on you cause I actually felt that the Colts were a decent team - but now that I see you are a Vikings fan, all bets are off. How can you even comment on the Pat’s when your whole franchise is in turmoil. Your best running back in years leaves to pursue his degree, your best wide receiver is an immature, selfish ass, and your quarterback hates playing for your team. You haven’t had a decent team since Fran Tarkenton played. Plus - you guys are 0 - 4 in superbowl games. You won a record 15 games in 1998 and still lost in the NFC championship game. You guys have never won a meaningful game when it counted. Your owner is a nut job and your uniforms are ugly as hell. Oh, but good luck next year!

Big Al I am going to assume (for your sake) that you have been a Pat’s fan for a very long time. So I obviously don’t need to tell you about franchises in turmoil and how when you’re a real fan, you’re a fan despite what your team may do. Besides, if you don’t count the last 3 years, the Pat’s superbowl history was even more dismal than the Vikings. If we could get a decent coach, who doesn’t go for it on 4th and 22 and then punt on 4th and 2, or who wouldn’t have 12 men on the field during a faked field goal attempt, then we would be playing (and beating) the Rams on Sunday. Alas, I will wait another year, and next week - you’ll be joining me. Waiting until next year. Good luck in Pittsburg - you’ll need it.

Anonymous, You fail to forget that the Pats made the superbowl in 1996, and since then have had a great deal of success. I do recall the old days of the early 90’s with the 1-15 teams. But Robert Kraft has done tremendous things with a franchise that was in turmoil. He’s hired great coaches (Parcells & Belichick), amazing personal and went out of his way to find the talent needed to win. Shit - he even kept the team from moving to St. Louis. Combs? What’s he done since taking over in 98? Absolutely nothing. He’s hired awful coaches, put his money into malcontents and whiners, and has done nothing for his fans. On top of that - he still allows them to wear those ghastly purple uniforms. I take great offense to you calling the Patriots, or anyone associated with that organization “cheaters” - particularly with all the amazing things they’ve done the last 8 years. Losers usually go that route when hit with a smack of reality….I guess you got two doses. I appreciate your best wishes for a victory next week - I guess all those years of coming up short has clouded your mind…because if you took a real long look at the game last week against the colts, you would have realized that at this time, and with this team, we can’t be beat. We are not only on our way to Jacksonville my little purple people eater….we are on our way to a Dynasty. And we just might rewrite history along the way. I’ll be thinking of you while I’m at my THIRD Super Bowl victory party. Hey - look on the bright side, you’ll always have the North Stars….ooops - they left also. Man it’s tough being from MN.
