In related new, I’ve decided to outsource all mp3 playing to my new Chinese made CD/MP3 player. At a Wal-Mart everyday low price of $25, I see why everyone’s outsourcing.

I wouldn’t have to do this if my Taiwanese laptop didn’t sound like a jet engine when it multitasked.

Woah. Seriously? Can it read Joliet, or do you have to limit the filenames to ~8 characters? How’s the display? *searches Walmart.com* Is it the Duraband CD-96? Hmm…How does it handle VBR?

Um, I don’t know. I think it’s this one.
It’s actually a little boombox. But, last night I threw in a CD of mp3 data and it went to town. The display doesn’t give a song title. The bugger was cheap, though, and since I don’t have a need for a huge sound system/stereo, it’s perfect.
(sidenote: according to the manual, all songs must end with .mp3, not .doc or .pdf. You know, just in case you had thought about putting your songs in Word format.)
