Beware of my mind
Posted on | September 24, 2003 |
Sometimes I lie in my bed at night and think about the quickest way out of my house in the case of fire. At other times, I imagine nefarious characters making their way into my house via my bedroom window– and my task is to fool them into thinking I’m asleep and don’t hear them. My mind conjures great escape routes, discreet hiding spots, and the safest places in case of a tornado. Many times at night, I think about how to hold my keys ‘just so’ so that if attacked I could bludgeon my attacker with my keys (??). Or, if I was kidnapped could I elude my captor at some point?
No. Not all of my brain process are occupied with these thoughts. However, I think they relish in escaping into the nothingness of darkness.

When is your birthday? I think I might have to get you the “Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook.” Hehe.

I’ve had the key thoughts many times. I think I remember reading somewhere that if you are walking at night you should carry your keys in a defensive position. Not sure how much harm a key is really going to do, but whateer.

Glad I’m not alone either.

Hmm. Have you ever seen The Royal Tennenbaums?

Yes. But I’m missing the connection.

I was thinking of Ben Stiller and his fire drills.
