Leopards, lions, and hyenas, oh my

I love the wild kingdom. I can sit and watch documentaries on octupi that make me late for class or meetings. Even more alluring to me is the savagery of the African savannah–the true exhibition of the food chain. In the span of an hour, I witnessed the deaths (RIP) of a lioness and her newborn cub, a leopard cub that wandered too far from her mother and others in the lower echelons of the food chain as well as the heartwarming reunion of the former leopard cub’s independent sister and mother. Ahhh. I can’t explain it, but it just fascinates me. Throw in a couple of hyenas, wart hogs, and elephants, and I am a happy woman watching the slowly developing plot that is nature.
Perhaps, though, I have watched too much National Geographic channel. Last night I dreamed a mountain lion family lived in our barn.

Wow! That’s so sad! I just don’t know what to say! This is a side of you I didn’t know, I guess!
