But it’s just a little worm you say? Ha. I have been violated by the RPC/DCOM Worm. A flurry of ‘Remote Procedure Call terminated unexpectedly’ messages came and I was soon frustrated. I hopped on my mom’s computer (thank you mom for having Windows 98 1st Edition) and a google search later, I found a lot of people having the same problem as me. So here’s what I did:
1) Threw up a firewall
2) Downloaded and installed the M$ patch from here
3) If the RPC message popped up, went to start > run and aborted shutdown by typing ’shutdown -a’
Someplace said to close certain ports…but I’m not sure how??!!?? However, everything seems to be working fine. Anyone else have the same lovely visitor?

Hmm. No, can’t say that I have. But then, I’m behind my family’s router, so its firewall is probably blocking it.
