Ok, maybe not best ever. (Hmm, maybe they’re just my favorite songs…) I’m sure horrible mayhem will ensue after people read these. That is, of course, if anyone actually reads this–and I highly doubt it. I don’t claim to be a music connoisseur or to alphabetize my CDs. I’m just a girl who has eclectic tastes, but tends toward grunge. Here goes:
-
Creep by Radiohead
Roderigo by Seven Mary Three
All Apologies by Nirvana (Who am I kidding? About any song by Nirvana could be included here)
Black by Pearl Jam
Ave Maria as sung by Chris Cornell

You guys are all a bunch of boring, arrogent, uninteresting hardons. I’m sure that whatever you have to say isn’t important because you’re a pack of corpse-fisting shits. Why don’t you go do something more productive like sticking your hand up someone ass when they aren’t looking? At least then you might have the chance to turn at least one head at something you do you worthless dolts.

what is with you people, can’t anybody even make a list of the songs that to them are the best christ is that all you people have to do is pick on people you mindless fucks.
10 KleRoi // Mar 16, 2004 at 4:14 pm
My god, someone makes a list of music and the only thing that happens is that everybody picks on each other…. well, I think that starway to heaven should be on the list, but it’s too difficult to make one, music depends on milions of things, and on personal likes….
sorry for the english, from Italy
KleRoi
P.S:I’m going to pick on someone too…Lulu, what the hell are you saying? You’re probably a Britney Spears fan….well, I’m really sorry for you, but you’ll grow one day (we hope).

This must be the 100th “top X songs ever!” -site.. Same shitty songs, same shitty people who pick on other’s taste in music..blah.. If you’re going to critisize, make sure you can at least come up with some better suggestions, you idiots! How ’bout broadening your taste in music?
12 tim // Mar 23, 2004 at 6:27 pm
NIrvana is a great band what r u talking about, best of all thime. Led Zeppelin is a great band but Stairway to Heaven is the most over rated song of the century, what about immagrent song and communication breakdown, much better.
13 Freddie // Mar 30, 2004 at 9:31 am
I think you are all right. Stairway to heaven and Led Zeppelin is awesome. However, you have forgotten the best song for me and I suposse for lots of people. Is one of the most famous song ever and the most important song from one of the best bands ever. That song is Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon. What a 4 men!!
Really awesome.
14 Alex // Apr 7, 2004 at 3:31 am
good man tim, queen r easily the best band ever, the all time best band, now somebody will say the beatles or somethin but u have to compare, freddie or john = freddie, better singer brian or george = pretty obvious john or paul, pauls good but deaky is the best bassist ever, except maybe les claypool and roger or ringo starr or the studio drummer the beatles needed to replace ringo when he coudnt drum
best 5 ever..
Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen
Imagine, John Lennon
Smells Like Teen Spirit, Nirvana
Anything else by Queen, Queen
Anything by Manic Street Preachures Led Zep or AC/DC
15 Alex // Apr 7, 2004 at 3:32 am
i meant by freddie not tim as good man i misread *embarrassed* but yeh tim ur cool
16 Freddie // Apr 11, 2004 at 6:12 am
I didn’t know too much about Nirvana, I just knew they were a great band, and not much more. But I’ve been listening songs of them. The are almost the best (let me tell you Freddie is the best). The y have very good songs, but without discussion “Smells like teen spirit” is the best one. Kurt was a great man but we killed him (he couldn’t stand the crowds and to be a Rock Star neither)
Nobody talks about Elvis Presley. He didn’t use to perform lots of songs, he only remixered, but he is one of the greats in the worldwide music ever. So Queen, Elvis, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Bruce Springsteen. That are the best or, shall we say, the most influence bands. I don’t know if you know Camaron. He is a folklore Spanish singer. He is considered the best man ever singing Flamenco (is a kind of music).
Please, dont pick on me ahahah
17 hayley // Apr 13, 2004 at 9:58 pm
okay let me tell you one thing about elvis presley..he’s a fake..what did he ever do that tried to help people…John Lennon and Bono should get a little more attention..specially when there music makes people aware of the world..elvis only showed us that he had hips..lennon showed us he had heart..maybe it’s just because elvis disrespected blues music or that he died on the toliet..but I can’t repect him, oh yeah and your list should have Imagine on it
18 Rob.C // Apr 14, 2004 at 11:18 pm

21 Räz // Apr 19, 2004 at 12:16 pm
hey… you guys ever listened to Bruce Springsteen - Racin in the streets?
Didn’t think so, the song ain’t on the list.
Besides… how can one tell which songs are the best ever, if you havn’t actually heard each and every song ever made?

this list is awful. hwen you talk about best songs ever, you cannot talk about any of the above. AT ALL!. wheres john lennon. wheres dylan. beatles??? mozart? beethoven? you have to learn. nirvana and the likes may be good but they are nothing new. it was all done generations before hand and better too.
32 cpw // May 10, 2004 at 11:06 am
Top five according to me:
1.Christian Woman by Type O Negative
2.Headdown by Soundgarden
3.Junkhead by Alice in Chains
4.In the Light bt Led Zep
5.Claire de Lune by DeBussy
If you don’t like them, that’s your opinion. But it’s very rude and arrogant to curse someone out because their tastes are not yours.
PS: The majority of you little bastards needs to learn how to spell!!!!
33 v-rocker // May 13, 2004 at 10:01 am

40 Allison // May 21, 2004 at 9:12 am
I strongly recommend you all go and listen to a song called “stairwzy to heaven” by a band called led zeppelin before you judge what the best song is. I know many people wont agree with me, and think i’m just trying to be controversial but i think you might like the song. It is pretty good.
41 Andy the Argonaut // May 26, 2004 at 12:59 pm
You guys are all right on somthings and wrong on others. Firstly, anyone who doesnt like Nirvana should go [edited out — N.S.] … Secondly I really am not sure why you fucks are arguing about a songlist that somebody posted on a meaningless website. Get fucking life. Hehe. Btw, some of you shrews have the mental capacity of a small rodent… Thanks for reading…

What is even stupider than us wasting time coming on here to debate good songs, is some knob like you wasting time coming on here to tell us that we’re wasting time. Surely you see the irony in that Andy.
43 Sara // May 29, 2004 at 7:54 pm
Umm well i think most people mentioned pretty decent songs..i’d just like to say stairway is originally by hendrix..not led zeppelin
44 Matt // May 31, 2004 at 7:41 am
I don’t know who told you that but it is incorrect. Stairway to heaven is an original song by led zeppelin. If the reason you think hendrix did a version is because there is a file on kazaa called jimi hendrix - stairway to heaven, then you should know that the file is incorrectly labelled. One version of the song that is supposedly by hendrix (according to kazaa) is actually a rehashing of led zeppelin and pink floyd (i’m pretty sure it was done electronically because to my knowledge pink floyd and led never recorded anything together).
Another version in kazaa listed as being by hendrix is actually a cover by a reggae band recorded in 1988, granted, it does sound slightly hendrix-like but it is definitely not by hendrix.
Anyway, Led Zeppelin collect all royalties from the song, that couldn’t possibly be the case if the song was hendrix’s, they would get their asses sued.
An anti-ledzeppelin web-page i was looking at the other day that accused jimmy page of stealing all his riff’s from other artists accused him of stealing the riff for stairway from a song called “Taurus”, by spirit. If he’d stolen (or borrowed) hendrix’s song they definitely would’ve paid out on him for it.
A lesson, don’t trust the labelling of files on kazaa, they are often incorrect. Classic examples of this are stairway, house of the rising sun and sweet home alabama, all of these are credited to just about everyone other than the correct artist.

46 mc // Jun 2, 2004 at 7:08 pm
wow some people had really good bands and a wide variety is really good. But this is based on best songs ever! not just YOUR favorite songs… so we also need to think of people like michael jackson, Modanna, even eminem and the songs need to be inspirational not just good.
47 Alaster // Jun 3, 2004 at 9:56 am
Fair point. I would agree that a best songs list should contain michael jackson, but eminem and madonna would be cluthicg at straws. I am a big fan of eminem but i would never claim that any song he’s made would fall into the catergory of “the best songs of all time”. If you are looking for inspirational music i suggest bob dylan because his lyrics are just jam packed with meaning and relevance to todays world. Eminems lyrics are quick, witty and amusing but i wouldn’t say he’s best of all time material. I like his music but, put simply, I am not inspired by gangsters.
48 Sammy // Jun 8, 2004 at 12:04 pm
I think some1 should Go through this list and Copy all songs here make a website where we can vote For 5 songs and see how this turn out, this way every1 gets there say and the results will be, well they will be True as every1 will have had there say in the matter..
Just a thought ;]
49 samson // Jun 9, 2004 at 10:53 am
its hard keeping a list of best songs to under 200, let alone 5. I was making a best song ever MP3 cd the other day and i narrowed it down to 190 tracks but that was a serious struggle. When i made a list of the tracks i wanted on there it was well over 300! The end result was not biased to a particular genre or band and i’m rather proud of it. Many of the songs above were on it, but to drag up a few new ones, yet to be mentioned:
Ram Jam - Black Betty
Cab Calloway - Minnie the Moocher
Meatloaf - I would do anything for love
John Mellencamp - Hurts so good
Robert Palmer - Bad Case of Loving you (doctor doctor)
Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride
Silverchair - Shade
The Knack - My Sharona
Rolling Stones - Under My Thumb
Chilli Peppers - Under the Bridge
The above are not my best 5 ever but they are all damn good songs.
The most brilliant song i’ve heard recently would be “the trial” by pink floyd, that is just such an awesome idea for a song, i can’t believe anyone came up with it.
