New beginnings?

Graduation looms a mere two weeks away. And to answer whoever for the thousandth time, no I don’t know exactly what I want to do. I do not have a job yet, and, more specifically, I am struggling with exactly what kind of job I want. I guess that puts me at the proverbial crossroads. I tend to do or plan to do whatever I think I should do. Frankly, I’m sick of doing that. I want to do what I really want to do. And what do I really want to do? Good question. There are so many things I want to do and accomplish. However, I am starting to realize that I really love web design. It satisfies both my geeky and creative tendencies. Also, I must say that my geeky side is starting to overpower my non-geeky, more business-oriented side. And I really don’t care. So, here is my real vision for the future: have my own web and software development house. I would recruit the best of the best that shared my style and could understand my vision. I have so many ideas in my head screaming about. Last night, inspiration hit me with such force that I had to fire up GoLive and put my vision into reality. And it came out pretty cool too, if I may say so myself.
On another note, my guestbook has become its own franchise. I have passed along my guestbook code (written by me a few years ago), as rough as it is, to my fellow software engineering buddy, Tim. So, check out his site and sign the guestbook.
P.S. All you people that look at me in disdain when I say that I have not had time to find a great job before I walk across the stage at commencement exercises need to get a grip. Just because you have to have everything planned, doesn’t mean I do. I think I am actually relishing the thought of not having a plan. So, buzz off. While you’re already sitting at your desk in the small cubicle that will be your life for the next x number of years, I may just be on a plane to Japan for the experience of a lifetime.
